HAVE YOU HEARD THE BIG NEWS?!
Laidley Community Centre Inc is buying three- sons cafe with a hope to transitioning it into a social enterprise cafe over time! That means, as well as delivering great coffee and food, we also want to add some social value back into the community.
WHY A SOCIAL ENTERPRISE CAFE?
There are several reasons. Some of the main ones are:
- To provide training opportunities for young people to increase their long-term employment outcomes
- To provide an additional pathway for the community to access our services.
- To better engage with the community and build on opportunities that support positive outcomes for Laidley locals.
WHAT WILL IT BE CALLED?
We don’t know yet – we wanted to hear ideas from the community first. If you have any suggestions let us know – if we choose your name you will receive a week’s free coffee and cake!
WHEN WILL THIS HAPPEN?
This project will be rolled out in stages. For now you won’t notice much change, but watch this space. We’re planning for a Grand Re-Opening in 2019!!
Up until then though, our top 3 priorities will be
1/ FIRST-CLASS CUSTOMER SERVICE
2/ CONSISTENT HOURS
3/ AMAZING COFFEE!
WHAT WILL CHANGE?
We’ve already had some great suggestions about incorporating things such as a community art gallery, computer access for people to job search, and a meeting place for support groups.
The possibilities really are endless and we’re keeping things open ended so we can respond to community ideas. So let us know!
HOW CAN PEOPLE GET INVOLVED?
There will be a number of ways for the community to be involved – whether it be by way of sponsorship, volunteering, helping with design, coming up with ideas or just buying coffee! We’ll keep you posted along the way as to how you can
