On the 24th of October we held our Annual General Meeting at Community Grounds, our social enterprise in Patrick St. We were pleased to be joined by VIPs Mayor Tanya Milligan and Deputy Mayor Chris Wilson from Lockyer Valley Regional Council.
We were able to report on another successful year, but with some challenges around ongoing funding for the café resulting in a difficult decision regarding its future. On a more positive note, just some of the highlights included recognition for the organisation at the 2023 QCOSS Community Impact Awards, announcement of ongoing funding for our Early Connections Project and our Volunteer Project growing from strength to strength. We are proud to present to you our 2023/2024 Annual Report (attached).
After sharing our reports with members, the spilling and re-election of board occurred, and we are pleased to announce the following outcome:
President – Michele Considine
Vice-President – Adrian Shepley
Treasurer – Pat Morgan
Secretary – Margaret Fisher
Board Members – Jim Nicholls, Fiona Archer, Krystle Barclay, Shar Nicholls
We then held a graduation ceremony for our 2023 trainees and recognition presentation for our 2024 trainees who did a great job hosting us for the night. Both intakes certainly impressed us with their growth in skill and confidence during their time with us and we gave special thanks to those staff who have invested so much time and passion into this project.
Overall, the evening was a great chance to reflect on the impact of our organisation this year and share some of our plans for the year to follow and a great night was had by all who attended.
In the run down to Christmas we enter the busiest time for the community centre, and we look forward to lots of festivity and goodwill as the end of the year approaches. Please stay tuned for more information about upcoming events and activities, but in the meantime, we hope you enjoy reading about the achievements of the past 12 months in our 2023/24 Annual Report.
